Thales is a major industrial force in the UK with 11,000 employees based at 65 locations throughout all regions, Thales UK provides systems at the heart of the UK's military capability as well as delivering solutions from flight simulation and secure transactions to integrated communications.
OCS successfully tendered for the catering in 2001 to provide services to the 400 staff based on site. Utilising the successful foodhouse concept OCS invested to improve the professional image of the catering service.
The restaurant has three principal areas ? an informal seating area to enjoy fresh ground coffee, pastries, deli sandwiches and hand held snacks; the main restaurant seating for hot main meals and salads, and a more formal dining area used for visitor entertaining and Thales training delegates. Hospitality is provided around the building?s conference rooms too, together with a quality vending offer.

 Successful catering |
So successful is the catering, and in particular the standard of customer service that Maggie Parker and her team provide that negotiations took place to allow other Companies in the local area to use the restaurant. Four external Companies now enjoy the extensive food choice on offer. The extra 100 customers a day helps to reduce the Thales subsidy ? creating a win-win for everyone
?A choice of good food and good value are expected as the norm. It is the quality of the management, staff and the service provided to their customers which distinguishes the good restaurant from the ordinary. Customers value the Mountbatten House facility; it is a very good restaurant. Of particular note are the volume of business and positive customer reaction originating from non-Thales companies in neighboring buildings; both being good indicators of the esteem in which the restaurant is held.?
